Lots of people ask me how a photoshoot will actually work.
What to expect.
What to wear.
Where it will be.
When the photos will be ready.
How do they view the images.
How much it will be.
So, here is a little rundown of what to expect:
I will speak to you on the phone, to find out a little bit about you and your family. I have little ways of making you all giggle, so it's handy to hear about ages and favourite things. We will talk about outfits and locations, plus i will send over my full pricing list in advance.
Your shoot will last 1-2 hours and can be done either on location, using beautiful natural light, or in my studio in Bowdon.
If outdoors, choose somewhere that is special to you and your family – a favourite park, local woods, a play area or simply in your own garden. We can discuss various locations prior to meeting up.
Don’t worry about posing, I can help you capture the love between you and your family with natural shots of you smiling, laughing, holding hands or tickling the kids.
Please be prepared to make the kids laugh (behind the camera) as you will bring out their best smiles!
Plus make sure you’ve all had a good meal before coming, so we aren’t contending with hunger. Snacks & treats are a good idea to bring, to keep the little ones happy (& big ones too!). As long as the snacks don't make a mess of outfits...like chocolate on a hot day or a lollipop that takes hours to eat!
After the shoot, I will edit the images and work on the post-production of them using Lightroom and Photoshop.
Then two weeks later, I will present 40-50 images back to you at my studio in Bowdon and you can choose which images you like best. Some clients like to bring the kids (early evening) or others would rather see them during the day - i'm really flexible as to when it suits you.
If there is a big group of you, ideally all parties come together for this session, so you can enjoy looking at them all at the same time and can choose which images you may want.
You will have been emailed my “Pricing and Products list” after our initial conversation, which is all very transparent as I don’t like hidden surprises! So, you can think about your budget and work out what you would like to do with your images. Some clients choose a USB stick with digital images.
Others prefer me to organise the production of a beautiful frame or canvas.
Sometimes production may take up to 4 weeks for some products, so please bear this in mind for birthdays or Christmas gifts.
If you have any other questions, or a specific request, please do get in touch and i'll happily help answer them:
